Mission
The mission of the baccalaureate degree program in Health Informatics and Information Management is to produce leaders in the discipline who can transform and evaluate data to improve patient outcomes, support the consumer, and advance healthcare delivery. 


Information
The baccalaureate degree curriculum emphasizes the development of skills for the management of health-related information and the systems used to collect, store, retrieve, disseminate and communicate information for the support of enterprise operations and clinical and business decision making in healthcare or related organizations.The Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) program requires 120 semester credit hours of study on-campus or online. The last quarter will be off-campus at professional practice sites. 

 
The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Students of the program will take the registration examination of the American Health Information Management Association during their last quarter. Graduates who pass this examination may use the credential RHIA, Registered Health Information Administrator. This program leads to the Bachelor of Science Degree.  The first-time pass rate for the 2017-2018 academic year is 83%.  The national pass rate during this time was 67%.
